A bumper crop!

This is the second year we've tried planting and growing a garden (I need to take a picture of it now!). The first year was definitely a learning process....we were able to harvest some tomatoes and some cucumbers. This year, I decided to be a bit more dedicated and tried some different techniques. First of all, we put down weed block, since I knew I wasn't going to be dedicated or have the time to do lots of weeding. I wasn't sure how it was going to work, but I am happy with the results. We have lots of corn stalks growing taller and taller, some cucumbers starting to flower, LOTS of pumpkin vines trying to take over everything, some tomatoes (in the garden and in a 'container garden' on the back porch), some peas and some beans.

We've been picking some peas and beans here at there -- only a couple at a time. But, tonight, we hit the mother load! We had two handfuls of veggies to boil up for dinner!!

They were YUMMY!!!
