Stay-cation, day #2:

We headed downtown today for day #2 of "Stay-cation" 2009:

We watched the dolphin show @ Shedd Adquarium -- it was just their 'practice/training' show, so it wasn't as dynamic as we've seen in the past, but it was still good.

Big sister LOVES maps -- here she is helping little brother read the map and figure out where we should go next.

It was a GREAT 2nd day of our stay-cation, everyone (except daddy) fell asleep on the way home and it was early bed for the kids and mommy is about to head that way too...

Let the Staycation begin!

After much thinking and pondering a wonderful California vacation, we decided to stay home and try the much-advertised "stay-cation" -- you know, all those water parks and theme parks advertised a 'stay-cation' this summer in order to get families to stay local and spend their money at those parks. Well, we're doing a "stay-cation" this week....but, we don't intend to go to any theme parks.

We have lots planned....stay tuned for photos.

Day 1: take kids to babysitter, stop @ Starbucks for coffee, plastering the master bedroom, painting the family room. cleaning off back porch, pulling some weeds, prepare dinner for baptism class and even had a spare 30 minutes to sit in front of the computer before picking the kids up.

It was said...

Well, it took 6 months, but we've heard the phrase, "I wish we didn't have that baby" for the first time this week.

Big sister wanted to leave the babysitter's house "right now" to head home and spend time with mommy, but mommy needed to get little brother into his car seat. Big sister didn't want to wait.

Poor big sister -- I guess she's finally realizing that he's not leaving.

You wouldn't tell by this photo that she didn't want him. She's really in love with him and little brother is infatuated with his big sister!

The Fair

Nothing says "county fair" like a ducky game and a big tractor tire, does it?

New videos

Big Sister reading her first book -- we ordered the Hooked on Phonics program and let me tell you -- it's AWESOME!

Little Brother thought mommy's monkey noises were SO funny! Too bad I had to run downstairs and grab my camera - so, let me tell you the laughs were a lot stronger before I got these shots!
