After much thinking and pondering a wonderful California vacation, we decided to stay home and try the much-advertised "stay-cation" -- you know, all those water parks and theme parks advertised a 'stay-cation' this summer in order to get families to stay local and spend their money at those parks. Well, we're doing a "stay-cation" this week....but, we don't intend to go to any theme parks.
We have lots planned....stay tuned for photos.
Day 1: take kids to babysitter, stop @ Starbucks for coffee, plastering the master bedroom, painting the family room. cleaning off back porch, pulling some weeds, prepare dinner for baptism class and even had a spare 30 minutes to sit in front of the computer before picking the kids up.

sounds like work to me.
I agree! You're supposed to relax and have fun.
Having the kids at the sitter means you finally get to those things that never get done. The coffee & 30 min. to yourself sounded like a vacation. I applaud your hard work. Good luck!
