Here's the scoop on our housing situation - we put our house on the market in March, had an offer (really poor offer) in the beginning of July, have had over 1,000 'hits' on our website (through the MLS) and have several showings in the past 4 months -- at least over 10 showings, several repeat showings, but still no decent offer. So, we find out today that we are "1 of 3" possible houses that a first-time homeowner is looking at and narrowing down her choice -- so, we pray that our house is the one that she feels most like 'home' in...(we'll hopefully find out more by the end of the week).
On the other hand, we have found this WONDERFUL 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house about 20-25 minutes west of where we are now. It's on 1 acre of beautiful, full-grown trees, cedar siding, 3 car garage, blah-blah-blah. We've visited the house 3 times now and each time find ourselves wanting to live there. Last Friday, we put a contingent bid on the house and we found out this morning that they accepted the contingent and counter offered us! We are THRILLED that the owners are willing to work with us on a contingent -- in this market, it's risky to accept a contingent (long story, our relator tells it better than I could). So, we are working on finding a price that we can agree on and then we will start the ball rolling with home inspections, etc.
Today, for the first time in 4 months, I can see a light at the end of this tunnel. Aaron and I have been really working hard to be up-beat and positive, but these last couple of weeks have taken a toll on our marriage and family -- the stress of selling our house is more than we expected. God works in mysterious ways -- just when we were down in the dumps and really on each other's nerves, He brings us a little light to keep us going!

Will be praying that this homebuyer puts an offer on your house so you can move forward!
Amen, sister! I feel your pain. It has been less then pleasant waiting for an offer on our place. Two more showings tomorrow...here's hoping.
Good luck you you!!!
