1st Day of School

Yes, our toddler daughter is only 2.5 years old, but she did have her first day of 'school' today! I enrolled her in a little park district program that is 2 days a week for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I was unsure how she would do, she is slightly clingy these days and is a real 'mommy' girl, but I know she needs socialization with other children her age.

Here we are at home, about ready to leave for the first day!

I dropped her off at class and she ran right over to the little toddler kitchen area and said, "bye mom, see you later!"

So, I walked right out and went for a 45 minute walk! It was great to get some fresh air, read the paper and just spend some nice quiet time alone.

My biggest fear was that it would be my daughter that would be crying and need her mommy to come back and be with her (parents were asked to leave during class). But, my fear was relieved when, in fact, it was another little girl that needed her mommy and my daughter did just fine (with her blankie, of course! I didn't want to bring it with us, but I'm glad we did -- it helped her when the other little girl was upset).

Now, we're all ready for class again on Wednesday!
