The funny things kids say...

I know it's been a while since I've been on this blog...I have lots of pictures to post - when I get around to downloading them. The problem: I have found a new obsession: FACEBOOK!!! It's very fun to re-connect with family, friends and co-workers. My husband doesn't understand my new obsession, but trust me -- it's there!

FUNNY STORY #1:
Anyway, tonight was my last doctor's appointment before I start going weekly -- that's right, I now go to the doctor every week to check the status of baby "we are Reilly" #2. We took our daughter to the appointment tonight -- her first time meeting "the baby doctor" and getting a chance to see the baby on the ultrasound in his office.

It was so cute, she asked the doctor: "Do you have a magic wand to see the baby in my mommy's tummy?" (we've been talking about the appointment for the past couple of days).
He said, "Yes, I do have a magic wand".
She says, "Does it have a star on the end?" (you know, like a magic fairy wand -- what doctor wouldn't have a star at the end of their magic wand?)


FUNNY STORY #2
We've been having some discipline issues at our house - the preschooler feels that her world if falling apart since this new baby is coming and we're starting to regress a bit -- "mommy, I need you to feed me, get me dressed, sit by me, hold me", etc....etc.

I've been taking different approaches to this and nothing seems to be working 100% of the time. We've talked about how God made us to "shine like a star", "sparkling and shiny so that when everyone sees you they know that God has filled your heart with joy and love to share with others". Then I tell her "Go and shine today!" (you know -- meaning, making good choices, being respectful, sharing, etc).

Today she tells me, "Mommy can you just take God to work with you so He won't be with me while I'm a Miss Karen's house?" (the babysitter's house)
I asked her "Why?"
She responded, "Because Jeffrey says the word 'stupid' and I want to say that word too."

I think it's kind of setting in...at least she knew she shouldn't use those words, right? Not sure if she did today.......probably because God was only with me at work and she didn't take Him to Miss Karen's house!
