It all started...

...with a little sympathy pain. She needed an ice pack the other day after school. Two little boys at school bumped heads and she thought she needed an ice pack too! So, we walked around all day with an ice pack.

Then, we started getting a runny nose -- no big deal, right? Just the common cold -- I had it last weekend, so it was about time someone else in the house caught it too. But then, Saturday morning we woke up with a 'barking' cough -- you know the one that sounds like a seal? We'll, I've heard about it but never heard it at our house.

Saturday, we had the barking seal at our house. I called the doctor (which you really have to be sick for me to call the doctor -- I'm not one to call for every little sniffle or cough or vomiting). She heard the seal at our house too -- over the phone! We 'officially' have croup -- without having to go to the doctor's office (which makes me happy!). So, what is the croup? It's basically a different form of the common cold -- just as contagious and nothing you can really do but 'wait it out'.

So, here we are....'waiting it out'. We were so much better today (Sunday), but now this evening the seal has returned...

I'm just hoping the seal finds its way back to the ocean and out of our house soon!

Oh Croup is awful. You feel like you're exposing the world to a really bad sickness when it's just a cough.

Hope it goes away soon.

I remember when Mackenzie had that. She had to use an inhaler. I hope Payton is feeling better soon!
