Play date

We've been sick around our house going on 3 weeks now, missed a day of school last week and just not 'ourselves' lately. My daughter has a little friend at school that she just adores and we decided to try to host a play date today -- we are dying for some 'normalcy' around here! The problem was that my parents were also coming up -- they are going to Arizona for the month of Feb, so they wanted to see us before they left.

The two kids were playing so nicely, until Grammy and Papa Bill arrived. Then, my daughter didn't want anything to do with her friend! I felt so bad, but the little guy was a trooper and he didn't seem to mind - he just liked all the different toys we have here at our house.

So, it was a shorter play date than I was expecting, but we all had fun in the end!

Popsicles and a movie -- what could be better?

A little game of checkers -- it took ALL my energy to not intervene when they weren't really playing the 'right' way -- it's one of those control things I have...I just walked out of the room and you know what? They made up their own rules and had a good time!
