Okay, so today was starting off so well -- the toddler and I went to a local state park, walked around a bit and enjoyed the nature. Then we went to a local playground and played there for a while -- I was going to post some really great pictures today.....
but, we have some how lost our cat! Our cat is an in-door cat and we rarely let him out -- just to sniff the back porch once in a while. But, it seems that sometime in the last day or two, he has snuck out and we didn't notice, until today.
I was cleaning up from our weekend of guests and noticed this cat walk across our back porch. Now, we have lots of strays around, so I wasn't surprised to see a cat walking in our back yard. But, we have 2 black strays and an orange stray. Our cat is brown/gray tabby -- so, you can imagine my surprise when I saw the back of a brown/gray tabby walking across the back porch. It took me a minute to realize that I haven't seen our cat the past two days (not necessarily unusual -- he hides out during the day), so I dropped what I was doing and ran out there -- only to find no cat. He must have run off or slipped under our porch.
Our cat is really my husband's cat -- he got him from the humane society when he was in college. The cat prefers my husband -- snuggles with him, sleeps on his side of the bed, etc. It didn't surprise me that the cat didn't come to me when I called for him outside.
I talked to the neighbor who said they saw our cat (not knowing it was our cat) last night hanging around their house -- they feed the strays. So, there's a neighborhood watch out for our cat!
If you see a brown/gray tabby running around your house and it's not yours, will you please email me????
***UPDATE: THE CAT HAS BEEN FOUND!!! My husband came home tonight and searched for him for over an hour. He was getting worried. Being the ultimate optimist that I am, I knew deep down that he would just show up (maybe living in the country growing up helped). So, we finally sat down for dinner (I forced my husband to come inside), and here comes the cat up the back porch -- he was hiding underneath the porch. My husband went out to get him and the cat ran under again -- he was so scared. After about 1/2 hour, he finally came to my husband and we are once again a happy family!

I'll keep an eye out. ;)
I hope he turns up! One of our kitties is constantly sneaking out of the house - as her current state of "round-bellied-ness" would attest to.
Hmm, if you don't find him - want a kitten? :)
I'm so glad you found him, and he finally came inside. whew.....
What an adventure! Now poor P-K will be even more reclusive.
